Punita’s association with dance began as a child, at a tender age of five. And since then this able & endowed lady has never looked back.

With her sheer determination, grit and hard work she gained proficiency in the field devoting herself completely to the real passion in her life, a medium that would enchant the eye, allure the mind and amuse the senses.

Her performances, lecture demonstrations and workshops in India & abroad are marked by technical perfection and a deep understanding of the dramatic elements and emotional content of each composition.

She follows the traditional style of Kathak of Lucknow Gharana. Her compositions have a contemporary & Universal appeal.

She has also choreographed over a score of enthralling ballets on Sufism, mythology and social issues, which have been widely acclaimed.

Punita has contributed her own concepts to the traditional Indian dance style through her experimentation and innovations.

She has produced and choreographed several dance dramas in her own style which have been highly appreciated
